“I strive to anticipate the needs of my patient to ensure there are no serious medical setbacks and to secure the smooth running of their home.”
The name Angelica comes from the Latin angelicus, which in turn is derived from the Greek Ἄγγελος (Angelos), meaning “messenger of God”, which is where we get the word angel.
I have been told by several of my patients and their families that my name fits me well. Nothing brings me more joy than knowing I have cared and served my patients well and have, in a way, been a light of hope, compassion and love to them by doing my utmost to make sure of their wellbeing and to serve them and live up to my name.
Why You Want My Kind Of Nursing
By profession I am an RN, but I cannot classify what I do as just being a career choice. For me nursing is a calling. Since my childhood, when I read the biography of Florence Nightingale, I was enchanted by her life’s desire to care for others. This thought buried itself in my heart and throughout my life has remained within me.
This love for caring for the tired and sick came forth most noticeably when I had the privilege to care for my grandparents until they passed away. During this time I developed a stronger love toward caring for the elderly. This was a priceless gift my grandparents gave me. Through this experience I learned that remaining at home for as long as is medically possible is the best option for families with aging parents.
It has become my life’s desire as a nurse to enable my clients to stay at home, by providing the best nursing care that allows my patients to have the best quality of life despite any illness they are coursing through.
I have cared for patients between the ages of 60 and well up into their hundred, including high profile patients who require supreme confidentiality. I have traveled with them, seen them through punishing treatments, and I’ve held their hand as they’ve passed from this world to the next. Most of my patients have remained at home until they passed away, surrounded by their family, friends, pets and objects familiar and cherished by them all.
My clients first see me as a nurse – the professional, medical service provider who delivers home health care, and the case manager who ensures their medical needs are met within their homes. They expect customized, case-by-case service. But by the time my patients and I end up parting, I’ve earned their respect. And they’ve rewarded me with their trust. They know they can rely on me to advocate for their health needs and, in the process, I’ve become a close friend who laughs, cries and listens to them through their good and bad times.
I hope to build further friendships of this kind. So, call me. And let’s get to know one another.
